From Tuscany comes the first online boat charter booking platform for travel agencies.
The b2b platform currently includes more than 400 boats in the Mediterranean and about 20 in the Caribbean and is the result of the work of Kiriacoulis Holiday, a Tuscan operator active in the boat chartering business.
Created to meet the needs of the Geowellcome Travel network with which it has an agreement, but open to all travel agencies that are interested in marketing boat vacations, the platform is the first to comply with the tourism code and has the Astoi forms, of which Kiriacoulis Holidays is a member.
Vacations to be spent on boats represent an ideal proposition for selling in adv; unfortunately, to date agencies are unfamiliar with this niche product that recognizes good commissions and needs human rapport to be sold.
Kiriacoulis also works in training agencies until they obtain their boat license on favorable terms. It also conducts educationals, the next one in Greece Sept. 21-28 with two catamarans.
Kiriacoulis Holiday staff will be present at TTG Travel Experience in the Astoi area, of which the t.o. is a member, and will be happy to meet with travel agents interested in learning about the platform and the business conditions for collaborating on the project.
"The platform will be accessible with direct connection to all agencies, especially foreign ones," Luciano Rigli, administrator of Kiriacoulis Holiday, tells Sole 24Ore. "As of today there are about 450 boats, after the fall and winter fairs there should be about 1,000500, of which 200 in the Tuscan archipelago.
"We want to be a tool for the development of nautical tourism by bringing this niche market to travel agencies. Yacht charter is a driver of the coastal economy, but it suffers from the problem of berths.
The expansion of the Punta Ala port and the new Chiusa marina in Piombino should begin to bring stability to the industry and the platform generate new tourist flows."
